Curious about size and gender

So I’m curious- in our last batch of chicks the biggest one turned out to be the rooster. Is it always this way? Or can you have hens that are bigger?

I ask because I’m watching my little lavenders grow and I have one tiny one, and two large ones. They’re not old enough to sex yet- 2 weeks- but I’m still curious. I will say that our last rooster was super obvious from the beginning- attitude wise. I don’t see that with these little ones yet- but they’re a different breed. Lol 😆

Size isn't always indicative of sex. I've had big pullets I would have sworn would have been male, but they weren't. Size can be used along with other signs to pick out males in a batch, but alone isn't enough.
