Hi everyone, my first posting with a problem. My lovely Hannah is a rescue hen (warren) who several years ago was the sole survivor of a fox attack. She recovered well, but has always had a bit of a limp. Recently one of her feet, the toes curled. We could find no sign of any injury, so left her to rest, However a day or two later the same happened to her other leg. So now she sits with both feet under her. showing no sign of distress, eating and drinking. She is being fed on a propriety brand layers pellets. She shuffles around trying to stand on the 'kneecap'. balancing with her wings. My husband has been exercising her legs to maintain the muscle. Any thoughts, ideas welcome. Sorry but I do not have the ability to upload photos.

Put her on some human super B complex vitamins right away. Give her 1/4-1/2 tablet daily crushed in some cooked egg or moistened chicken feed. She may have a riboflavin deficiency, and that can lead to lameness. Does she lay eggs regularly, and are her shells normally hard? Sometimes an injury to the sciatic nerves or a reproductive infection pressing on the nerves in the legs may cause curled under toes. Here is a good article on B2 deficiency:
