Cute 4x6 coop that you can build in a weekend. Using basic tools and costing around $250 for the materials, this coop will comfortably house up to a dozen hens. Includes 3 nesting boxes with a hinged roof for easy egg gathering as well as a hinged roof for easy access and cleaning.

Plans can be emailed to you as a PDF file or a hardcopy bound in a folder can be mailed. They include detailed step-by-step instructions with full color photographs plus a materials list that you can bring with you to Lowes or Home Depot as well as a cutting diagram.

Also included are four bonus info sheets on Healthy Chicken Treats, assembling a Chicken First Aid Kit and more great information !

A 4x6 coop can't house 12 standard sized birds, unless you overcrowd them. Six is the comfortable number for a coop that size, to give each bird 4 square feet of space.

The rule of thumb is 2 square feet per chicken when the coop is only used for sleeping. This coop is designed to be inside a predator-proof enclosed run where the hens spend their days.
