My 5 year old went outside yesterday to do her 10-times-daily "checking for eggs" (

) and she came back in and said:

"The Leghorns laid two eggs, and I looked in Pinky's pin, and there wasn't an egg, but she was sitting down like she was pushing one out, and her rooster was standing over her and protecting her."

AWWW! I thought it was so cute the way she worded that.

(Pinky, btw, is her little OEGB hen)

My roo always seems to think he has to do that in the presence of children. I had the 1st grade class come to my house for a tour and Morgain wouldn't stop. I finally went and got him and put him in the storage area.

That is so funny how she described that one. I bet you got a good laugh and will for some long time.
