Cute little visitor

I found this little bird on my deck a couple hours ago. He or she can fly. When my son got too close she flew to a tree, and then returned about 30 minutes later. She has let us get very close, like a foot away. I wasn't able to get as close for this picture, but here she is..does anyone know what kind of bird this is that seems to love walking around on my deck and getting fed bread and eggs by my son?

She has orange eyes (maybe orange around her eyes) and white spots on her wings. I think there is some orange on her chest too. She makes a funny little growling sound.

look up mourning dove vs Eurasian collard dove.

If its an Eurasian collard dove (or pigeon that's not a mourning dove) it is legal to keep, not native, and likely a fly away pet.

Thanks! I didn't really consider it might be someone's pet! One of my neighbors has many chickens and parakeets, and has had other birds. I will ask her if she is missing a bird.

Looks huge is that's a normal size spray can- I thought diamond dove too but it would be a giant. Also compared to the deck planking that's a giant.

My first thought was mourning dove, since they're quite common in Virginia. Then I read that it was fairly tame, and had the orange eyering, and now I'm agreeing that it sounds like a diamond dove. How big is it? Diamond doves are quite small, compared to mourning doves.
