Last year was my first year of processing. Cutting through the caruncles was difficult; it felt like I was using a butter knife to cut rubber. Please share your technique/ideas/suggestions for cutting through caruncles. Thank you.

axe works well.
or a knife sharpener just as good, a sharp enough knife, will cut through anything, like melted butter.

Okay, thanks for the feed back, I guess I'll just sharpen the holy heck out of my knife.

I don't have a problem with using an axe but I don't have the set-up.

Do you have a chunk of firewood, or a tree stump in the yard? That's all an axe setup requires.

I would suggest sharpening your knife, the proper way, instead of just sharpening it.

Here's a very good article on the how to. http://www.fieldandstream.com/articles/hunting/2011/05/outdoor-skills-hone-knife-sharp-enough-shave
