Could this be cyanosis? I found her laying down in the coop, not in the box. Picking her up easy and she just drooped in my arms. I laid her down in the bathtub and she laid flat like she was already dead. I put just a little bit of warm water with epsom salt for a little while. She perked up some but she stands off balance and her eyelids keep closing. Her vent also keeps straining. So maybe shes egg bound?? But the purple comb makes me feel like its more than just egg binding. She wont drink any fresh water for me either.

Egg binding I find unlikely. It could be one of several things. Any other symptoms? How long has she been lethargic? When did you notice the comb color change? I'm sorry to say it sounds like she isn't long for this world. Where are you located? I would start preparing to send her to your state poultry lab for a necropsy so you know exactly what it is.

Texas...no other symptoms besides lethargy and the purple comb. Breathing seems normal. I dont forsee her surviving the night though.

How long has this been going on?
This is one of 4 or 5 poultry labs in Texas. I'll see if I can find the others. Or this one can tell you about others.

Most labs will send you a Fed-Ex label for shipping the carcass. Tell Fed-Ex it is medical samples, not a dead bird.
