Added our new auto door to the coop. Was easy, easy, easy. Now...getting the timers right, and easy for myself and family to work the manual switch is harder, but here it is. Also, for those of you who are old D&D gamers, the designation D20 is awesome.

D20 Add-A-Motor purchased from Smarthome.com Auto Chicken Door motor. Coupled with a timer, it auto opens the door in the early morning hours, and closes it at night. Allows you to sleep in and not have to let them out, and additionally, if you are traveling, they can have regular access to their yard.
It was $75.97 with $5 off using code E5OFF50 valid through 6/15/13. Shipping via FedEx was free. Now, I had a mistake in their website, where I paid with PayPal and the site defaulted my shipping our PO Box and to USPS and charged me. There was some confusion and it took a couple of Customer Service Reps, but they eliminated the shipping charge still, even though it had already shipped to the PO. So they were great and I would use the company again.

I am having trouble getting timer to work right. We got a digital timer with a battery back up. The D20 works very simply. When it receives power, it activates, and rotor turns. Then, it needs the power to be shut off. Then, when the power comes back on, the motor reverses. So, if you need to open or close the door during the day, and hit the manual on the time, you mess the timer, and...well...can't quite figure it out.
