They really are, it was something else, the goslings wanted to follow me everywhere, so the ducklings had to follow as well!Precious![]()
Lol, these goslings are just something else. Nothing like ducks at all IMHO. That is what I was worried about, stepping on them. If I stopped walking they would just stand on my feet, and run all around me, so had to be extra careful when I went to keep walking, I was terrified the thought of stepping on one.Follow their leader. Just be careful you don't step on any they can get underfoot pretty quick.
They seem to be getting along with them very good. The Muscovy are same age as we got them together. They do let them know they are the bosses. They will peck thier butts here and there to make sure they know. The older ones, the ones we hatched are about a week older and they was trying to tell the goslings they was the boss some. Over all they all did really well together though. Goslings ran around eating grass all day, to he ducklings took out a fairly big spider and a beetle, and was running after the butterflies that flew by, and anything that flew around ha. The goslings did attempt to chase one butterfly, but gave up pretty quick when it zipped off. Anytime I laid down in the yard they would all just kinda come over and try to lay on me or right next to me when they was ready for some short naps ha. One of the Muscovy figured out how to jump into the water I had out there I provided so they had water. So there was a time I kept having to reach in to pull the guy out. Definitely the Muscovy are too small to be swimming right now, but that one wasn't taking no as an answer. At one point the male gosling which has been named Harley decided to swim in the water as well, so had to get him out also, was kinda funny seeing him jump in as there really wasn't even room for him to swim. I did walk them to a small puddle in the Driveway and let the older ducks, and the goslings play in it for a few minutes, it was real shallow so they couldn't really get too wet in it, but they had a blast. They really are, I enjoyed my goslings so much hard to believe it was almost 16 yrs ago when we had our first one hatch here. Now I only have 1 she'll be 11 on April 12.
Enjoy those babes they grow up so fast.
How are they with the ducklings?
