Daisy here, keeper of the Hennett Ladies

Hi all!

My name is Daisy, married to Papa Bear with two human daughters (one redhead, one regular we like to say) and five clucking daughters.
I've had my girls for almost 20 weeks now. Their names are Mammá, Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, and Kitty. Lydia turned out to be a Larry and my redhead still talks about how delicious he was . They are a barnyard mix I got from a friend who had a barnyard mix, so other than Mammá being very like a Buff Brahma, I have no idea what breed they are. (I will ask here as soon as I'm allowed to post pics )
At twenty weeks, only Mammá has any wattles or comb, but hers are bright red. We've been hearing the egg song from my other girls, though, so I'm hoping eggs will come soon. So far though - none.
But while we wait, I'm enjoying seeing their personalities come out and how they fit in the pecking order.
My non-chicken life includes gardening, knitting, and studying and teaching the Bible. And Jane Austen if you couldn't tell...
I'm so excited to be able to tap into this wonderful resource and learn from those who know so much and song with those who know as little as I!
