Hi I came home the other night and noticed one quail with a bleed coming from the beak area so I sorted that out but the next day I noticed the cock bird had one eye closed and a little swelling around it. The next day I separated it and cleaned the eye and managed to open it and it seemed abit bloody in there. He still can’t open the eye and I panic and suspected coryza but the swelling has gone down now and there is no smelly discharge. Do you think he has been pecked in the eye? If so what do I do about it?

if he was pecked in the eye don't put him back with the others that could have pecked him. He can live without an eye. One of our birds eye got pecked but after a couple or three weeks it opened. so just separate him for a couple days and if he starts crowing put him with a female quail that won't peck him.

I only have the one roo in the set up and six hens but did notice one off the hens pecking at him before I removed him. Thanks to you both for your help I always get fast great advice on here. 👍
