Well Ive had a broody hen for anout a month so I decided to let her TRY to hatch some. I collected eggs for a couple days and placed 12 under her on the march 29th . I have had to move her back on the eggs twice in the process she seems to get up and someone else jumps in there and she goes to another hole where the others have layed. I know I should have built her own pen and maybe iI will in the future but this was a first time trial effort. Im not worried bout the eggs getting too cold because its in the upper 80's 90's here right now. But today I checked on her and she was in the next hole sitting on 1 ameracana egg and a SLW was sitting on the eggs. So I moved the SLW out and put her back where she settled right down and covered again. Well now theres 19 eggs in there. I marked the original 12 so Im going to start checking them on the 18th. What should I do with the rest leave her sitting and see what happens? should I mark all the new ones or toss? nuthing will be pure bred unless the GLW hatch.
