I had to help a chick out of its shell as the inner membrane was so sticky it couldn't turn to zip.
It had pipped and then a day and a half later it still hadn't got any further than pipping the shell.
Its now been out of the shell for 3 days (I helped it out Wedsnesday evening and now its Saturday late afternoon), and it still spends all its time under heat and doesn't come out. I'm getting it out every day and dipping its beak in the water and tapping the food with my finger, but it just stands there and stares then scurries back under heat. It has never once pecked at the ground and only once attempted to peck the food. It just doesn't seem interested in the ground. The only time it pecks is straight forward at head height towards my hand. The others that hatched yesterday morning are all active and eating and drinking well.
The only breakthrough I've had is that it had one drink by itself today when I put it by the water and tapped the marbles in the dish.
Is it possible for a chick to have learning difficulties? This chick has a very small head, beak and feet and rather big bug eyes and is very wobbly on its legs.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get it to eat? I really don't want to lose it.

I just don't have any more ideas.

They are on a mixture of chick crumb and egg food.
