We just got 3 white-crested black Polish chicks today. Two of them have dark splotches on their beaks. I assume this is just normal coloring variation, like freckles or birthmarks, since they seem otherwise healthy. Will these dark spots be permanent (and thus a way to identify each chicken) or will they go away as the chicks age?
