the temperature in incubator spiked suddenly this afternoon to 102 after staying steady between 97-100 degrees for the past two weeks. I am sure this is normal because as babies grow they generate more heat but how high does it need to be near hatching? Thank you so much

. I will just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesnt spike or drop to low

im sorry! that super sucks. :( i think with everything ive read you just keep an eye on it, and leave everything like normal. Ive read people have had the same problems a couple times and eggs still hatch. im no expert at all, but i wish you the best and just stick to it

A spike up to 102 is no problem. Try turning the thermostat down a tiny bit, not much... just a hair. Watch and wait several hours and see what happens.
I know in my house the ambient temperature in the house makes a big difference.
The warmer weather we've had outside means the inside temperature has gone up significantly and this affect the temp in the incubator.
