Hi Everyone I Have 23 Eggs In The Incubator All Are Moving And Alive My Question Is Some Look To Be Developing On Track Acording To The Pictures On Here Some Seem To Be Ahead Of Where They Are Suppose To Be And Some Look To Be 3 Days Behind On Development But All Are Alive Is This Normal And Ok Will They Wind Up Hatching Over Day 24 Or 25 And What Could Cause This I Set Them All On The Same Day And Time

a spread in development can mean either they had been just warm enough for a couple days to start development on the ones farther ahead, or the incubator is having fluxuating temps in different areas cause one area to have a cooler pocket and slowing down development. Is your bator still air or forced (with a fan) ??

I'd put in lockdown on day 18 and then give unhatched eggs till day 25 just to be safe.

I Have A Still Air On Top Of The Eggs It Has Read 100 Degrees The Whole Time Except For When I Open To Turn And I Am Fast In Doing That And The Temp Goes Right Back Up Now Some Of The Eggs Are Bigger Than Others And I Have Some Bantam Eggs Which Is The Smaller Eggs Plus Some That Are Normal In Size Like You Get In The Store Could This Be Why They Look Like They Are At Different Stages I Rotate Them Around In The Incubator So That They Are Not Sitting In The Same Spot The Whole Time

if you have a thermometre you could pop inside the bater, if you move it to different places, you will be able to see if there is a difference in temperature. if you can guage that, then maybe move the slower developers to the hotter part and the faster developers to the cooler part. I gather that still baters are less even temperatures than ones with fans.

Apparently bantam eggs hatch faster. Some as early as day 18. So this might be why some look further ahead.
