I have 2 sets of eggs incubating, 4 days apart from each other. The first set are bantam cochins. They are all moving slowly, and are on day 18 as of 5pm, so lockdown starts tonight. The second set are on day 14 as of 5pm and are standard size chicks, and TWO of them are just rocking away (an EE and an EE/CCL). I candled them, and they look like my day 18 cochin eggs! They were shipped hatching eggs from MPC, so I suppose them could have been further along, but I didn't notice it at all at day 7 candling. Has anyone just had some dancing chicks that decided to rock early, or are these guys possibly going to hatch early? My cochin eggs haven't wiggled a bit. I was staring at them like a crazy person hoping to will them into pipping while I am standing there watching, and I just about lost my face when I saw the other two going to town. My temps have been stable 100-102 still air, my humidity has been 30-35%. The MPC eggs came with larger air cells in the first place. What do you think? Are they just active, or could I have some early birds on my hands?
