Day 16 and I already have 5!

This is my first time hatching Coturnix quail. Well, my first time incubating ANYTHING for that matter...and I already have five little quail chicks!

Yesterday was Day 15...and it granted me one fully formed, healthy, active little chick. I was pretty surprised. This morning we found two more. And in the past 2 hours two more have hatched, and we have another pip!

My camera is dead as of now, but it'll be charged in a couple of hours so be expecting TONS of pictures you quail lovers!

Congrats. How many eggs did you incubate?

I've got 53 coturnix and 29 button quail eggs in my incubator right now. Lockdown is Wednesday. I'm anxious to see how I do this time. Last time with button quail my overall success rate was 7/25 purchased, not really too great.

I started out with 50, but quite a few were infertile and ended up rotted

I think I ended up with 40 good ones, and so far I have 5/40. I got these coturnix from my cousins coop, and this IS my first time so I'm just happy that some hatched!
