day 16 under broody hen!! pls help!!

hi all,

its day 16 with 6 eggs under my broody hen. theyre all bantam eggs so im expecting them to hatch on day 18. im using a phone flashlight to candle so that could be why im struggling to see veins on some eggs. there has been one or two times where the hen has left the eggs a bit cold but i dont think she left the nest for over 30 mins. it is winter here so that could be why they get cold so quickly.

all eggs are dark with a visible air sac at the fat end of the egg and i can see some veins on a few of the eggs. ive candled eggs once almost every day now and there was a slight crack on one of the eggs which i repaired with a bit of wax. have i done everything right? im just very paranoid that they wont hatch as ive only had one or two hatch from previous batches.

Sounds like you are on the right track. I wouldn't touch them any more and let the broody do what she needs to do. Good luck!

Let your broody take care of them, don’t handle them any further. BTW My bantam eggs hatched on Day 20.
