Started out with 6 eggs but one by one they quit on me, only one is left now. When I candled it yesterday it was wiggling and today I don't think there's any movement. How do I know if it quit this far along? I can get a picture if it helps

I've found that if they die in the late stages the dead chick sinks towards the narrow end of the egg and looks very black and lumpy, and there will be a watery, yellow layer between it and the base of the air cell with no veins visible. If it still looks full under the air cell then there's still hope.

Looks like a wing? I fear it's definitely a quitter, so upsetting.

At day 19 it should be pretty much all full and dark under the air cell. Unfortunately it does look to have died. :hugs It's always disappointing to lose a batch of eggs. Were they shipped or picked up locally or your own eggs?

They're from a friend's eggs. She had 6 under a broody and only 1 hatched. I'm wondering about the viability of her eggs
