sadly no pips yet that I’ve seen. But I expected a late hatch. Mama keeps hoarding eggs, writing checks her butt can’t cash, making the ten eggs I left her a bit cooler.

They may not hatch, may not survive after hatching if they do BUT mama is giving it a valiant effort.

And yes these two ladies seem intent on sharing the work load so far. One hen is so desperate to brood she’s working on hatching another hen here

I had a button quail hen go broody a few months ago. She sat good for like 2 weeks, then I found all the eggs scattered across the Cage and felt cold. I put them in the incubator for a chance to save them but I thought it was too late. A few days later, one hatched. And a week later 3 more hatched. Hope everything goes well for you!

I’ve seen the hen on the clutch get up to chance someone else away. Soon as she does the second hen will often hop right on . I figure why not.

Looking at that photo I would normally think they were mating, but it's females.
Hope the really big egg under it hatched soon

4 little fuzzy butts emerged in the last 12hrs. Naturally I’m out of town for work. My wife reports mama has chicks tucked under her normally when she isn’t chasing off other adults. So far so good!
