Hi! So today is day 18 of incubating Silkie eggs for me. I was just wondering if it is possible for a chick to start chirping before it has even pipped? Yesterday night I sware I heard a chirp coming from one of the eggs but there was no pip. Also, should I be worried if none of them have pipped or moved yet? I’ve heard of bantams hatching quite early...
Thank you!

Absolutely! It means it's internally piped. Should externally pip within a day.

My last hatch of silkies and Showgirls hatched on day 20. Slightly early but nothing remarkable about day 20 hatching. I wouldn't be too concerned until you hit day 22. You've got some time.

Should I hear another chirp before it starts hatching? I have only heard that one...

Maybe, maybe not. Some are louder than others. It does not mean the chick is distressed or in trouble if they are quiet.
