Day 18...peeps? Pips? 12-5-07

I am on day 18....I went in there to turn one last time...when I hear...peep,peep,peep!! Then, I look closer, and there are 3 pipped!

Are my temps too high? Its a still air, and setting steadily at 101 degrees. I had to hurry to try to get the humidity up, was setting at about 60%. These are my "test eggs" from the Langshan pen....black roo, one black hen, 2 white hens. Ohhh, I hope they make it ok...they are soo early!

I'd be rejoicing. Most of us have to wait 2 more days before we get anything. Hang in there and try not to chew your nails off.

ok, I woke up this morning, and RAN to the bator....3 little ones have hatched...they are black, as far as I can tell, with yellow on thier wingtips, and necks. all the rest are pipped! Maybe a 100% hatch!?? I will try to get pics later, going to get the brooder light on now. I wasnt ready for an early hatch!!

Yeah! Good for you. It appears there are a few of us expecting hatches today or tomorrow. Your success is wonderful! Take picture when you get the chance!

well..here is the update..so far....I had 10 eggs in the bator, one was not fertile, or didint grow, for whatever reason...so far, 6 hatched, the other 3 are pipped! I cant really tell the colors...black, with yellow wingtips, and yellon un some of the heads and bellies. As soon as they dry, and I can get them out into the brooder, I will get pics! I dont want to open the lid yet...so, maybe pics tomorrow! But, so far....6 of 9..and 3 pipped!! Woohoo! Working on almost 100% hatch!!!
