Ok this afternoon our power went out and i heard one chick chriping so i went to the bator and saw one chick moveing around. The power stayed off for 4 hours i thought that would kill the babys so when it came back on i went to the bator and 3 more chicks hatched. there are about 14 more piping and moving around in the egg yay. So my ?'s are, How long to leave them in the bator. and also Could the eat gamebird stater till tuesday morning. Thanks i am so happy that their hatching hope to have pics up soon

Thanks Dustin

You should leave them in there until they are completely dry. They have a hard time regulating their body temp. anyway. I don't know about the game bird starter..

Yes you should have taken the turner out on day 18 but definitely turn it off now. You will catch the little chicks in that thing for sure. Congrats on your hatching. Mine will be on day 18 tomorrow evening and I am so nervous.

Glad to hear it. Hope all goes well for you. I am on day 17 with my eggs. I am hoping that they hatch. I am new to all of this too, have just read a ton, mostly on here. Good luck to you.

I am so anxious. I raise goats so I am not new to animals, but I feel so much more responsible since I am actually incubating the eggs and not letting a hen do it. I only have two chickens right now. A pair of BB Red OEGB's. They are so cute, especially the tiny hen. She is laying up a storm so when I got my eggs in from Jaynie (here on the group) I decided to throw a few in . Out of the 3 I put in of mine, two are looking like they will make it. I put in 14 of the shipped eggs and I am down to 7. So I pray the rest are ok. Most of the ones that did not make it were buff sizzles and I was really disappointed and felt bad but she says she is having some trouble and thinks that for some reason they were not fertile. I feel some better knowing it was not something I did. So I will let you know how it goes. I am glad to know that even though yours came early, they are doing well. I pray mine do as well. Thanks.
