Day 20

Quote:
You do have a thermometer/hygrometer for your temp and humidity level readings? Your temp sounds right but that can still be off if your instruments are not reading properly. I'd put two in the bator to see how well they come to a common reading. Other than that I have no idea what the problem could be. I do think you rushed in to soon, I've had chicks hatch out as late as day 25 when my temps were too low. I don't see movement in the eggs even on day 18.

Patience!

I have what I consider a great candler. I can see movement but it is very slow and minor on day 18. Before I had this candler...I couldn't. I just wanted to add that I decided to help a chick recently and I hope I never do it again.

4 chicks were out...1 a bloody mess who managed to get trapped half under the wire in the water. I saved it, moved out the other 3 since I had it open and killed the rest of the hatching eggs/chicks. I feel that I killed 8 chicks to save one that died on me anyway. Stupid mistake. Live and Learn I say.

Thank you all so much for the help and suggestions<3
I am currently reading the hatching info to catch up/relearn. DH will be in control of our next hatch, just in case.
