I noticed yesterday morning that I had 4 eggs that pipped, and when I got home lastnight 3 hatched and 1 zipping. After I was home for about an hour or so, I had three back to back.

I've got more pictures uploading to photobucket. One more zipping, 5 pipped, and 14 that haven't done anything. 10 of them I'm not so sure of when I candled the other day. Total so far in brooder 13!

Congratulations on a successful hatch!

Question: At what point did you open the incubator and take the newly hatch chicks out and into a brooder? Some people post that they wait for them all to hatch before opening the bator....Just curious and anticipating what to do when mine hatch. Thanks, Terri:)

NoSpring, I do it quickly after they dry off. I don't know if this is the right thing to do, but I did have to save one this morning as it was stuck between the egg carton and thermometer. Thank you by the way!

One more hatched just before I left home for work. It's an Aracauna mixed cochin. It's just cute as can be. I left it in the incubator to dry. Not going to be at work too long today. Am hoping to be outta here by noonish if things go as planned.

Thanks everyone who replied!

Mine hatched over 3 days-the first two to hatch were way ahead of the others, and started pecking at the eyes of the newly hatched chicks. I opened the bator slow and quick, snatched them out, and added a damp cloth. I ended up doing this a few times. I made sure there was nobody zipping when I opened it. I know people say not to open it, and I wouldn't have if not for the pecking.

I got home and two more had hatched. One's not doing so good though it's intestines are hanging out. Not sure what to do about it. I left it in the incubator so he wouldn't get picked on by the others.
