day 21 no pips when do i worry

i am on day 21 with my first hatch ever. we have nothing going on yet. when do i candle again or do the float test? how long should i wait. going in to lock down all the eggs looked good. most had movement.

I would start to worry about now. After 21 days I would first listen to hear any cheeps or peeps from the eggs. Then I would candle them.
This should give a very good update on the eggs. Don't wait to long or the eggs will explode.

thanks. that is what i was thinking but everything i read says not to open the incubator. but i guess if there are no pips it won't hurt except to maybe drop the humidity and i can just add some more water. is it time for the float test yet? i've never done this before. can you tell??? thanks for the advice.

I usually begin to worry by the beginning of Day 22. This last batch has some that are just now pipping on Day 22. Had me worried. I do not allow them to go 24-25 days, ever.

Don't do a float test right now. It's not really late. Remember, 21 days is an estimate, a very tight one to be sure, but they can take 19-22 days and everything be perfectly normal. If temps have run a tad low for a period, that may delay the hatch.
