I got chicks. Ok here is what I was wondering. My temp is at about 98 or 99 right now. But the humidty got to 85%. One just hatched a few min ago. I think I have one or 2 that may hatch yet. IS 85% TO HIGH????????

I have my plugs in yet but when I open them the ones that peeped look like they glazed over the peep and that is the end of action from that time on. So closed back up and action starts in anouther egg but not glazed over.

Had 9 set 3 hatched so far two look like they may hatch yet. The rest stoped. ??????????????????????????

Has your humidity been that high the last 3 days? When chicks start their pips on the egg and hatch your humidity will rise anyway. All chicks don't hatch right at the same time, have patience. Your temps are alittle low but leave alone at this stage of hatch.

No humidty has been about 35 to 40% most of the time. Heat went down a little when they started to hatch.

I tried somethig new for me this time. I set the eggs and only opened to take turner out at day 18. At least I got some hatch this time. Last time nothing.

3 out 2 punching out now.

Just still worndering about pulling plugs and the other ones giving up. I can see a beak stuck in one hole and dryed up. I think I may have to leave plugs in when I am doing this.

Unless there is condensation on the windows of your bator, I would leave it alone. If it gets much higher though, I'd open a vent for a few minutes but since your temps are low, I'd be scared they would drop even more. Congrats on your hatch.

I usually run about 40 to 45% humidity during incubation, then boost it up to around 65% for lockdown. After they start to hatch, the humidity gets up to 85%. This seems to work pretty well for me. Humidity seems to be something that is pretty individual. Different people have success with different humidities. I think elevation has something to do with it. The higher your elevation the lower the air pressure so the higher your humidity needs to be. That's only a guess on my part. I just know from reading on here that the same humidity does not work for all of us.

I did not read that you increased humidity after lockdown. If you left the humidity down around 35% to 40% during lockdown, you may have shrink-wrapped some chicks. They are pretty tough and some could hatch anyway, but that may be your problem?

I agree. Not all hatch at the same time. Be patient.

5 for 9 hatched Checked it out 2 did not develope and 2 just stoped last night.

IT WORKED OUT GREAT

THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP I GOT ON HERE
