Hi there folks!

I am new to incubating chicks and have 8 eggs left in the incubator out of 12 that I started with. I have been candling since day 21 and noticed today the air sacs are looking bigger and I’m only seeing definite movement in 3 of the eggs.

I spritzed them with a little water to get the humidity up to 80%. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Thanks in advance!

If they're still not hatched at Day 23 but moving, your temperature must be off. I'd get yourself a thermometer/hygrometer to check for next time. Most incubators are off even if by a little bit. Many of us get Govee brand on Amazon, and in addition, I bought these as they fit nicer in the incubators. They aren't calibratable like the Govees are though, but I found them to be accurate. For brooders I still use the Govees though.

80% humidity is too high. Let that drift back down to 70%.

Up to lockdown, humidity should be between 40-50%, then up to 70% for lockdown. The temp should be 99.5F the entire time.

Hoping you'll still have a great hatch!
