Day 24 - still viable?

Hey! This is my 1st hatch! Had 9 eggs, down to 6 after candling on day 7.

On day 20 3 hatched and are now beautiful healthy fluffy chicks!

Meanwhile, I’ve still got three in the bator - no movement or noise from them but I did the float test and looks like they could still be viable?

Should I hold out for longer? 2 of the 3 are silkies (none of the 3 hatched chicks are) so I get why they could be delayed possibly, but the other one is same egg as the hatchees

The float test is a good way to kill the eggs. Candle the eggs with a bright light and see if there is any movement. If you don't see anything then they are probably dead. At that point you can either toss the eggs or open them up and see what went wrong.

Yeah I candled them first. Chicks in them but no movement. Will open them up later

What does the movement in the egg look like? I am candling the eggs and everything other than the air sac is dark. I don’t know how I would even see movement.

Sometimes you can see a kick or the membrane being pressed or active veins around the air sac. How much you can see depends on how dark the room is and how bright of a.ligjt you have. It also depends on the shell color. It's almost impossible to see into really dark eggs.

I'm having the same issue. I had 8 eggs and 7 hatched perfectly by day 21...now on day 24 and the last egg appears to be developing but without any movement that I can notice.... They are all silky.
