I'm ready to pick one open. I can still see movement . What is the longest any one has waited to hatch their eggs and had success?

There was a post not to long ago about chicks hatching on day 28...

If you see movement in there, that's a good sign. I've never helped with egg hatching - but I've read that some people will make a small hole in the shell at the air sac end... Anyone?

If you see movement I wouldn't mess with them.

Questions: Was your temp consistent or in the zone?
What was the room Temp? This is more important than I realized, when I began hatching.
Are you certain of the day count?
What was your humidity throughout the hatch.
How often did you candle, or did you? Seems to me some mess with the hatch to many times. Everytime you do you slow the development process. In fact if your certain the eggs are fertile I think once is enough.

I've candled at the end of day 22, pipped open the air sac.

If the chick had pipped into the air sac then is start with the membrane. If I see blood flowing through it (do this by putting WARM [not hot] water on it) then I tear it away little by little.

One time I opened one up and the FRESH AIR really revived the poor little thing. I got it's head loose, wrapped the egg and chick in warm paper towel with the head exposed and 20 minutes later it was OUT and running around the bator.

Good luck.

I'd say you have at least a 30% chance of saving it if it's still moving.
