DAY 27 DUCK CANDLING PLEASE HELP?

hello
today it is day 27 of the khaki campbell duck eggs
today i see the duck pecking on the shell but not for long.the egg is very dark and i could only see the aircell.
the duck comes for about 2 seconds then goes away it does not do it constantly.is this normal and will they hatch.
its from my homemade incubator and the temp does vary sometimes.i really hope it hatches and my incubator works.

Hi and from Ohio. So glad you joined. Ducks usually take 28 days to hatch. It can take up to 24 hrs to hatch once it has pipped. I help out if not hatched out by 30-36 hours.

from Alabama. Glad you joined us. Very normal. Ducks are slow hatchers & love to take their time. Just give it time, keep the humidity stable, & you should have ducklings before long - Good luck
