This is my first time hatching chickens and I'm so excited! It's for a school science project, but I'm really trying my best to give these eggs the best life possible. I have adoptees lined up for them once/if they hatch.
So this is the fourth day I've had them in the incubator, and I've been checking them constantly, turning 4 times a day and making sure the humidity is at the right number, as well as the temperature at 100 degrees F. So today, I decided to see what's happening and candled with a Mag-Lite.
When I candled, I saw the air sac (on the large end of the egg) and towards the top of the egg, I saw a decent size shadow, which I assume is the yolk (there were NO red lines and the yolk was moving) Forming just over the yolk, I saw little veins that looked like tree-roots, which I hope are the blood vessels. Does this sound right to everyone? I will take pictures if people need to see.
Thanks so much!
