Day 4 incubating quail, no veins!

Hi there. I have recently started incubating a new batch of quail eggs in my janoel 10 incubator. It is day 4 as of today however when candled, the eggs show no signs of life (such as veins). Is this normal on day 4 or does this mean that the eggs are not fertile? Thank you!

Thanks for the reply, I will update you when I do candle them next week. I have already had a go yesterday and 2 eggs have shown veins so I do have hope!

5-7 days is easiest, a good candler can generally see things at day 4

I'm on day 15 now. I candled them before putting them into lockdown yesterday and 5 eggs were all dark with a light patch for the air sac, I believe. I hope to find something tomorrow and will keep you updated!

Day 16 and still no movement or pipping. I still have hope as they are meant to hatch on day 18, so I'll see how it goes!

UPDATE: 1 of them is rocking about!
