Today is day 9 with 14 silkie eggs in the bator and I've got a couple of questions and need some advice and opinions.

Out of the 14 eggs, 2 are clear and 1 has just a kind of sringy red membrane in it. I'm pretty sure it's not gonna do anything, but what does that mean or what's that called for future reference?

Out of the ones that have something going on in them, most are a decent size but one of them looks a lot smaller then the others, but it is moving around in the egg. (that is soooooo amazing to see!!!!!!!!!) At this stage, how big should the embryo be? What do you think is gonna happen with the smaller one?

Last but not least I bought another springfield thermometer and the humidity on the left side of the bator is different than on the right side just a few degrees but still different. What's up with that?

Sorry this is so long but this is my first time and I just want to know what's "normal". Thanks!!

Here is an interesting website. When you click on it, scroll down to where it list 1 -21 days of the life cycle of the chicks. It has a picture for each day. Be warned that the pictures are of the embryos outside of the shells, but it might give you an idea of how big it should be.

WOW!! Thanks Delsi! Just checked out the site..very cool. The smaller one looks to be about day 5 or 6 so that's not very good. The others look to be right on schedule (I think!!). Please say a prayer that my babies will hatch and be healthy. Humidity dropped to 29% last night...not sure why...got it back up to 40-44% this am. Hope it didn't do any damage.
