Day old Goslings. Being sick?

Hello Guys
Just wondered if it was normal for goslings to be sick and then shake their heads so it goes everywhere? Maybe they ate/drank too much? Some are coming out with frothy liquid.

Dont think it is anything to worry about yet but my word does it go for METERS when they shake there head! Lol.

Also when do you start to give goslings grass and grit to feed on? Also when can they have a bath when they get dirty? I have seen some people putting their goslings in water under supervision. Im wondering how I can keep them clean with all this spittle/food getting thrown about.

It's perfectly normal, but it shouldn't be happening all the time. Maybe they're bored and stuffing themselves.

They can have grass right away. Give them sods to play with and eat or - better yet - let them out on the lawn.

You can let them bathe now (supervised), but you have to make sure they don't get too cold and that they dry off completely after their bath.

Once they start eating any thing other than their normal chick feed or duck feed they need grit, I usually sprinkle it on the bottom of their brooder and they take it as needed, and if you take them out inside in the yard they will get their own grit. And I do what goose girl said and go out and dig sod dirt and all and bring it in and let them have a go at it.

I have given them a huge clod of glass and they have annialated it in a day! Will have to get several clods to rotate them for the goslings. Just had them all a sleep in my lap. Very cute. No accidents.
