day or night hatching - when does it happen the most?

My broody hen is on day 20, is the event random or do they always hatch at a certain time of day, kind of light related? God I hope its a fetilised egg! She will be devasted

Umm...
Mine usually start pipping at night then come out during the day and I do get a lot at night...
So its about equal

Mine always seem to have the knack of being ready to rotate and hatch just as I'm off to bed and have to go to work the next morning! It certainly feels that way
