I've been feeding my birds fermented feed for two weeks now. When I started, I was getting at most, six eggs a day (from 18 dual purpose hens), though more often three. It's slowly been creeping to a daily six, but today I collected ten!

All the fermented feed sites promoted increased egg laying, but with spring coming I'm unsure which is the correlation. The birds get no supplemental light, but I do feed them outside now so they are forced to enjoy the sun a little more. Middle of Wisconsin.

Thoughts?

I'm in the middle of Wisconsin too. My production is ramping up and should continue until it gets too hot, usually about July. No extra lights, or fermented feed here. I have a different view about the stuff than most, and don't ferment.
