DE and Compost?

I have a question about my chicken run. I'm a newbie at this stuff. We have been cleaning the coop out weekly and sprinkling shavings and sprinking DE around as needed.
We have added a larger run and we really like the idea of tilling the dirt floor of the run. Someone on the board recommended mixing in the poo from the coop into what we till in the run.
Would this affect us being able to use this dirt on our garden since it contains DE?
