My wife and I are in the process of building a coop and run (I will post pictures in the coop forum).

We wanted to get some mature egg layers for now and then raise some chicks next spring. We found someone that is selling birds that just started laying eggs. However they bought them from a comercial outfit and they are debeaked.

What if any problems will we have?

not sure about the de-beaked stuff but the problem that a lot of people run into with battery birds is diseases that those birds have or were vaccinated for so when you introduce new birds to the flock they can get sick.
