Dead chick and found blood in poo

remove th emedicated feed and start the flock on just corrid

feeding them both corrid and med ACS feed can overdose them

the probible cause in any instance is that there are 9 strains of poultry cocci and med feed dont catch them all

it may catch 1 or 2 but not all

corrid should be able to target teh current strain

they will also need to be removed fromn the coop and the coop washed with anti cocci detergents

in UK we have one called Bi-o-cyst

treat any chicken that have been arround the spores

any chicken that may have stepped in the poop or possibly eaten any poop or has been in the vicinity

also wash the chickens feet

glad you found the corrid

start corrid asap but remove the ACS feed when they start corrid

best to wait for hubby to get teh food and start this evening

and continue the corrid for 7 days

any chicken that have cocci will show signs of improvemnt after 2 days but still continue for 7 days then stop corrid on day 8

alot of people think giving corrid and ACS is fine but its not

a chicken can overdose on Anticoccidtat very easy and that can kill them or make cocci symptoms worse eventually killing them

one thing to remember is if you buy day old chicks and they are vacinated then again never give them ACS feed as that is same it can overdose them or even trigger Cocci

I'm pretty sure my 5-week old Cornish Rock X meat birds have coccidiosis (2 dead birds in 2 days, mucousy bloody droppings) as well.

I've called every feed store in my area for either Sulmet or Corid and no one has anything in stock except for Tractor Supply, and they only had ONE 10-oz bag of the 20% Soluble Powder left.

This chart http://www.sheepandgoat.com/articles/coccidtable205.pdf says to treat, you mix 4-oz of powder in 50 gal of water. I'm guessing that would mean 0.08-oz per 1 gallon of water, but how in heck do I measure 0.08-oz of powder??

I don't need 50-gallons of water!

Does anyone who has done Corid treatments have a better way to mix the 20% soluble powder?

Thanks
