Dead chick

so I have a broody silkie was sitting on 3 eggs... 1 had disposed of as was not viable....other 2 looked good chick broke through shell yesterday morning....was half out last night at 10 pm could hear peeping at 6 am from under mama....now baby was found dead. New at this but just wondering if yolk not fully absorbed? If anyone can tell from pic? The mama was also peeking at shell abit last night....did she kill it?

You are correct! The chick was not quite ready to hatch.

Where did the eggs come from? It looks like it might have been a shipped egg type of hatch
