Dead chicken in completely closed fenced coop. Fully grown-2 yrs-not sick. Feathers were COMPLETELY stripped from head to near tail about 3" wide. Elongated neck (as seen when a snake tries to swallow a chicken), we have a black snake that eats eggs, but it would take a python the swallow this chicken that far over and past the wings. The pen is 7'tall with a wire top.

I’m following this thread because the other day my chicken was nearly skinned alive, and there were no signs of entry into the closed coop

One time we had a small hawk, (sharp shinned), get into a coop, once in it couldn't get out. I opened the door and it flew away, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how it got in. Weasels are pretty small and probably could get in a small opening as well. I don't know either's eating habits, but am interested to know what did your chicken in. That plucking does sound very particular to some kind of predator.
