They can also brain themselves by slamming their heads into things trying to fly. I've lost a peachick and a quail and a turkey poult that have done it...

Its position that died was a quail sleeping position legs out and rested most my chicks do that could they be too hot

Could be too hot, I had a turkey poult die and then I realize I fried it on accident. A small area heats up a lot faster and hotter than a large area.

Do you have an infrared temp gauge to check surface temp?
