Dead Skin, Fingernails and Toenails. YUCK !

On a lighter note....How bad were your feet? We want to know.

To quote Tonto, "What do you mean we, Komosabe?"

Well...............since you all want to know how bad my feet were and for those who don't want to know. They were sooooooo bad, I had about a 1 inch pad of dead skin/callous on both big toes and both pinky toes. I also had a lot of dead skin build up on the heel. I scraped that off for about 30 minutes and it could still have used another 10 minutes. My toe nails had gotten pretty long because my toes were hurting inside of my shoes when I walked. The tip of my toes also had dead skin/callus build up, so I had to scrape that off as well And we're talking about 2 feet, so you can imagine. I also had the dead skin around the cuticle on my fingers and the nails needed a good trimming. I don't like long nails because I have lots of animals. So animals, feed, poo and nails don't mix. Is that enough information or is the TMI? - - - - > Too Much Information. Next time, I'm going to the spa.

I love your good natured response! True or not... it really shows you can play along!

As for hurting the chickens, it's no different than giving them meat, it's both high in protein etc. As long as it's not full of fungus growing out from under your super long toe nails ( just playing! ) you should be fine.

Our dogs also love hoof trimmings.

I'm with you...I know feet are necessary but geesh, I have never seen a pretty foot...not like I go around looking at people's feet though.....I love my DH with all of my heart but have told him that if/when he cannot cut his own nails anymore, he will have to have to go to a spa or something...........

I'd like to know how my husband did his toes before we met!

And usually he asks me to do his toes right after I vacuum! Clippings on the floor! Argh ...

I guess my only concern with the chickens eating the trimmings is .... won't the pointy trimmings stab them on the way down?!

I'm picturing a chicken with a toenail clipping stuck in its craw!
