Hey everyone, I have a bit of a delima. This is my first coop and I wanted it to be small just in case I changed my mind about keeping chickens. The only wood that was purchased new is the base which is a 10' pressure treated 2x4 ripped into a 2x2. The coop is 4'x4' and the run is 10'x4'. Since I'm not getting as many eggs that I thought I would be getting I'm thinking of adding on to the current coop but I'm not sure if its better to do that or wait until I can happen across some more wood then build another from scratch. I was thinking of adding a 4'x4' coop extension to the side where the double access doors are. As you can see I had to modify the roof because they were hitting it going up the roost steps. It seems that some of them just jump up there anyway instead of using the steps. Guess it was not a good design. Any ideas or thoughts on this project would be helpful.

Thanks.

If I was going to add on with that design, I would probably add on from the nesting box side. You are going to want the easier reach in and access for cleaning of the longer narrower design. It's seems pretty simple to double up what you have done that way. (I noticed the wheels, are you moving this around?)
