Poor things

I'm a firm believer in leaving things as they are... no declawing, debeaking, cropping etc.

I have some debeaked pullets that is saved fom death, I could not let these pretty girls be killed. I would never do it by choice. They seem fine and happy the range free on about a acre and a half. I do have many different feeders and waters so they all can eat and drink, with out problems. But they do look funny I am so glad they cannot see them- selves., But I love them.

I remember when I was a kid my dad used to have me catch the hens & he would "TOUCH" the top beak with a hot soldering iron. He did this every year -EVERY YEAR - It never seemed to hurt them & we had eggs & fried chicken every week + no bloody picked bloody sores .

I think debeaking is cruel. Our BR, Pheobe, chipped the end of her beak and was in awful pain for months (it never REALLY grew back perfectly). Leave things as they are is my motto, you rock Guitarists.
Debeaking isn't like cutting a fingernail, it's cutting your whole FINGER off.
