It's because she's yappy fingers. She went through a stage where all her avatars were of poly-dactyl animals & this one just stuck I guess.

Yep that is the story. The cat has 24 toes. After multiple requests to stop using disturbing pics, the kitty stuck. I LOVE that pic. Maple sent it to me years ago.
