Just cleaning out their cage and let them freely run around my garage:

Curious, what is this low pitched "UUURG" call made by the black one. Sometimes they make this call too when I give them some very yummy earthworms. Are they excited?

I know this high-pitched call is more for when they are a little scared in a new environment, and calling to go back to a more comfortable environment (eg. home nest), right?

all in all the 3 has been quite happy and getting about 2-3 healthy eggs per day. yellow one has always been skittish/shy tho!

the URG noise sounds like the one my male quail make when they want the female quail to come because the male quail has food.

the second one is the noise they make when the're lonely. (according to my birds. or maybe my birds are just crazy and it means something else :) )

(I had my volume pretty high up on the first video to hear the noise it was making and when it flapped...) :gig

My birds make the second noise when they're calling out for their friends too.

The first one, they make it for a few reasons. It's not always liked to a human emotion.

1st sound seems to be a normal chattering, they do it all the time. Maybe it becomes a slightly edgy "you are there, right?" call if it gets louder. 2nd sound is more like scared, lonelier "where are you? I am all alone!".
