decomposed granite for grit?

my work also has a quarry, and can get all the DG i want. its bout the size of pea gravel, but has irregular shapes, and more jagged edges. They can peck at it and break it up, and they seem to love it.

I guess that would work. We have 3 of thoes big dump truck loads of gravel and the birds just eat that. Your's will be fine I'd think.
